Wassily Chair (B3)
by Marcel Breuer
Inspired by the tubular steel of a bicycle handlebar, the 22-year-old Marcel Breuer at the Bauhaus created what would become the genesis of all tubular steel furniture. Named after his colleague Wassily Kandinsky — who admired the prototype so much that Breuer made him one — the B3 is an astonishing achievement: nearly a century old and still utterly contemporary.
